A poem for Valentine's Day

SILK

Come let us be silk together,
web woven whole
comes the silk.

Come – curl and uncurl like lilies,
columbine, orchids –
now column, now labellum.

Come, petals like bells together,
chime and peal, be music.
We are the wine of apples and pears.
